I’ve never understood the statistics that indicate that second marriages are even more likely to end in divorce than first marriages, for I know all sorts of people who have found true love and happiness the second time around. I also know people who experienced devastating loss or betrayal, who for a while believed their love lives were over, but eventually picked themselves up and went on to fall in love again. It takes a lot of courage to start over, to keep our broken hearts open and keep believing in true love, but the rewards for our courage are immeasurable. If you refuse to allow your past to limit what you hope for in the future, you can end up in a much better place than anywhere you’ve been before.
