“The only people to get even with are those who have helped you.”
- Anonymous

I love this idea! It makes me really ponder how much time we spend in appreciation versus anger and blame. What if we replaced all bitterness and resentment with actual deeds designed to show appreciation to people who have been kind to us? Can you imagine what would happen to your vibration, and thus how your whole life experience might change?

Your Own Beautiful Vision

No one is going to hand you a map that precisely directs you to the exact life you desire. Much of the joy of fulfillment comes from finding your own way there.

Others can be of great help to you. Yet you must take full responsibility for making the journey.

You have what it takes to fashion and lead a life of unique fulfillment. Look deep within yourself, honestly, sincerely, and you will see.

Don’t get trapped and frustrated by trying to live someone else’s dream. Have the courage and the commitment to let your life express who you truly are.

It is perfectly okay to love life in your own unique way. In fact, it is your responsibility to do so.

Let go of the worries, fears, false expectations and distractions. Allow yourself to see your own beautiful vision, and follow it joyfully forward.

“Be impulsive. Do something without planning it in advance. Angels love an adventure, don’t you?”
- Margaret Neylon

Spirit is constantly trying to lead us to answers and fulfillment via our own intuition, but in order to be guided, we have to be able to get out of our heads and listen to our hearts. This means we have to be willing to surrender our carefully crafted plans and act on impulse! When we are able to trust that all will work out if we just go with our inner flow, magic can happen.

Now Is Beautiful

It is now, and you are here. Instead of wishing in vain that you were somewhere else, give positive and loving energy to where you are.

It is fantastic to have a desirable and ambitious destination. To reach that destination, you must start by fully accepting and appreciating where you now are.

Decide that now is beautiful and that this place is filled with opportunity. Decide, and it is so.

No amount of regret or resentment can change the past. Choose instead to simply be thankful that you are here now, able to move positively forward.

Stop the fighting against what is, and start working on the good and valuable things that can be. Gratefully accept and make use of the profound power that is yours here and now.

This moment has great value that is yours when you choose to live it. You are here, and it is now, so embrace that value and give it your own unique meaning.

How To Foster Generosity In Students

In an effort to encourage the innate altruistic tendencies of young students, Vicki Zakrzewski, Ph. D., offers up several key components that she believes can help cultivate a spirit of generosity and kindness. Zakrzewski, the education director of the Greater Good Science Center, which teaches skills that foster a compassionate society, notes that one of the most important - and beautiful - scientific findings is that human beings are naturally inclined toward altruistic behavior.

“When you learn not to want things so badly, life comes to you.”
- Jessica Lange

There is tremendous power in desire, but every time we want something really badly, we naturally become afraid of not getting it. This lowers our vibration and creates resistance, which actually keeps us from fulfillment. To manifest with ease and power, we have to know what we want, but also feel happy and joyful instead of anxious or grasping when we think about it. A wise friend who is great at manifesting often says, “Wouldn’t it be nice if…” followed by whatever she wants. When she takes this light approach, magic happens!

Stay On The Path

If you want your actions to have power, repeat them often. Your solidly-established habits have much more influence than your occasional whims.

There are limits to what you can do in a single instant. Yet when you focus your actions over many days, months or years, you can achieve truly amazing things.

It’s great to have useful skills, valuable resources, and powerful friends. Yet without persistence, even the best advantages won’t get you anywhere.

With persistent actions, however, you can start from where you are and get yourself to wherever you wish to be. When you put real, focused effort into your dreams, again and again, those dreams cannot help but become real.

Which path you choose is important. What’s just as important is choosing to stay on that path, every moment, every day, until the destination is reached.

Give your life the power of persistence. And delight in the immense satisfaction of steadily working your way to your own unique fulfillment.

“Give me a fruitful error anytime, full of seeds, bursting with its own corrections.”
- Vilfredo Pareto

When we really mess up, we learn a lot. Similarly, when we’re around people who are really messing up, we have a wonderful example of what not to do or how not to be. It’s powerful to have things be so clear! For example, when a girlfriend is stuck in a miserable relationship with a basically nice person, I often tease, “Boy, it sure would be easier if he was beating you or something.” When things are obviously messed up or wrong, we what we don’t want, which helps us figure out what we do want and what we need to do to create positive change in our lives.

“Don’t play for safety. It’s the most dangerous thing in the world.”
- Hugh Walpole

At the Spiritualist church I attend, every week the minister will ask student mediums if they have any messages they’d like to share, and every week, each one of them sinks deeper into the pews to hide. Some of these students have been developing for years; at this rate, they’ll never be ready! When we refuse to take any risks in the pursuit of our dreams, we recklessly fritter away our most precious commodities: our time, our relative youth, and the opportunities Spirit sends in answer to our prayers.

Constantly Changing

Life constantly moves, so move with it. Life is constantly changing, so learn to find beauty and fulfillment in the changes.

If you try and hold on to the way things were, you will miss the new magnificence of the way things are becoming. If you deny and hide from the changes, the best possibilities will pass you by.

Embrace the dawn, then the midday, then the evening and then the night. Embrace the spring, then the summer, then the fall and then the winter.

You cannot hold on to a single moment. Yet you can choose to live each moment with grace and joy, with purpose and richness.

Today can be a significant improvement over yesterday if you will fully embrace it and let it be. Welcome life’s ever-changing nature, and you’ll find ways for each change to lift you higher.

As life moves, move forward with joy, authenticity and ceaseless wonder at the new opportunities in every moment. Though you cannot hold on to this day, what you can always keep is the love with which you live it.

The Conditioned: A Sidewalk Poet Finds His Home

Raimundo Arruda Sobrinho was a homeless poet, living for decades on a roadway median in Sao Paulo, Brazil, he called "The Island." Though his circumstances were dire, he wrote each day will diligence and passion. His dream was to share his work with the world; but he lived fundamentally disconnected from others. Or did he? This film speaks to the inherent interconnections among all of us and the astonishing things that can happen when we allow them to manifest.

Reiki Healing

“Reiki is a modality of energy healing rediscovered in Japan by a Buddhist named Mikao Usui in the 1920’s. It is a combination of the words Rei (meaning “Higher Power”) and Ki (meaning Life Force). Reiki means Universal Life Force and can only be used for the client’s highest and greatest good; never for harm, so it is safe to use on everyone.”

Chakra and Crystal Healing

“Chakra is a Sanskrit word meaning “wheel” or “circle.” The seven chakra/energy centers animate a person’s physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual bodies. The lower three chakras regulate primal issues (survival, power, motivation, procreation) and the upper four chakras deal with metaphysical issues (love, creativity, inspiration, insight).”

Angel Healing

“Why do so many believe in angels when they may (or may not) doubt the existence of God? Could it be that angels feel more approachable and personable? Perhaps it is because they are the energetic helpers and messengers that lends credence to this possibility.”

“If you look at zero you see nothing; but look through it and you will see the world.”
- Robert Kaplan

When I am helping people learn to see auras, I teach them that the key is focusing not on the person, but rather on the “empty space” around them. It is basically the same with anything we feel is “not there.” When we adopt the right state of consciousness and begin to look deeper into apparent nothingness, all kinds of subtle energies and answers begin to take shape. Thus to access psychic information, we have to stop assuming we don’t have it. Instead, we need to alter our state of consciousness and then look into the need we’re feeling. In that apparent void, we will discover answers that have been beneath the threshold of our conscious awareness all along.

Start Doing It

The way out of doubt is to do. The way to get beyond discouragement is with action.

Thoughts have a powerful influence on the way you feel and the way you are. Yet deeds have an even more powerful influence.

When you’re doing something positive, effective and meaningful, it’s difficult to be negative. When you’re actively making a difference in life, there’s no energy left for discouragement or despair.

When you want to get your spirits up, get yourself up and get going. Your actions can change life for the better, and that will most certainly change you for the better.

Think of how truly amazing it is that you can make things happen. Then go beyond thinking, and start doing it.

Don’t just wish or dream or complain or worry. Step decisively away from the negative, limiting thoughts with positive, purposeful action.

John Upton: A Life in Photography

As a student, he rubbed elbows with Ansel Adams, Edward Weston, Minor White, Imogene Cunningham and Dorothea Lange, and photography became a search, a way of life. "I'm out there looking for photographs and sometimes I reach a point where what's out there is looking for me. Minor used to talk about how that would happen. One thing Minor did, and I catch myself doing, is that when you've photographed something and absorbed it, then you bow to it."

“Angels are featured in Christianity, Judaism, Islam and other religions. In countless Old and New Testament verses, we find angels performing their chief function – acting as God’s messenger. Other religions, including Buddhism and Hinduism, mention angels throughout their scriptures as well.”
- from “Angels All Around Us,” compiled by Karen Maguire

The various religions of the world squabble about so much. Most of them assert that their way is the only true path to God, and are quick to point out how other paths are “wrong.” I like to look past the words and details for the ideas underlying them all, for that is where I believe universal truth can be found. For example, if despite all the quarreling, all these religions agree on the existence of angels, how can we doubt that they exist?

Clean Your House, Your Mind Will Follow

"With spring cleaning in effect, many are rolling up their sleeves and reaching into the corners and hard-to-reach places that have often been long neglected. As a merely physical task, cleaning can be arduous, gratifying, and everything in between. But if taken up with the spirit of self-purification, cleaning serves as a powerful instrument for heightening awareness of the present moment and of addressing the dust and clutter in one's mind. In fact, the process of cleaning can be so therapeutic and meditative that a company, Zenith Cleaners, was established where workers approach the task of cleaning as a spiritual practice. "Cleaning is the process of removing dirt from any space, surface, object, or subject, thereby exposing beauty, potential, truth, and sacredness," says Tolu, founder of Zenith Cleaners. How's that for a positive outlook when you are staring down a toilet bowl or a sink full of dirty dishes?"…
