I always come up with a better plan and rarely regret my words or actions when I wait until I’ve had time to reflect a bit before responding. There is nothing wrong with letting voicemail answer the phone and take messages for us so that we can ponder requests without feeling pressured to give an answer, or telling folks that we’ll think about the situation and get back to them. Wouldn’t you rather wait for an answer than have someone make a plan or a promise they won’t be able to fulfill?
