Daily Inspirational Message for April 10, 2014

“Accept yourself as you are. Otherwise, you will never see opportunity.
You will not feel free to move toward it; you will feel you are not deserving.”

When we approach self-improvement out of loathing for who and what we are now, we tend to fail, for we don’t actually feel deep down like we deserve or are capable of anything better. We can see this clearly in dieters who try to lose weight because they hate their bodies. For a period of time, they may hang in there and do what they think they should via sheer willpower, but then something happens that awakens their self-loathing, and they’re “off” again. Unless we embrace positive change out of self-love instead of self-hatred, we’ll relapse time and time again into self-defeating behaviors. Loving ourselves as we are does not mean that we don’t want to change and grow; it just means that we approach self-improvement with kindness and compassion for all of who we are.
