Daily Inspirational Quote June 18 2014
“Integrity has no need of rules.”
- Albert Camus
Throughout our formative years, most of us are taught that we must follow the rules. This social training begins in toddlerhood, picks up speed in preschool and kindergarten, and is well-entrenched by the time we’re able to tie our own shoes. We may have learned that if we are “good,” we’ll remain safe and succeed in life, and yet there is great danger in blind conformity. For example, the laws of Nazi Germany were made to be broken. At a spiritual level, there comes a point our development when our own wisdom and integrity supersedes the rules of man. When we reach that point, we can do as we like, and so long as our intentions are pure, good will prevail. Similarly, if we ignore our inner truth to obey others’ rules, we will suffer the karmic consequences more than those who don’t know any better.
