Daily Inspirational Message for November 27, 2013
Every once in a while — often when we least expect it — we encounter someone more courageous, someone who chooses to strive for that which (to us) seemed unrealistically unattainable, even elusive. And we marvel. We swoon. We gape. Often, we are in awe. I think we look at these people as lucky, when in fact, luck has nothing to do with it. It is really about the strength of their imagination; it is about how they constructed the possibilities for their life. In short, unlike me, they didn’t determine what was impossible before it was even possible. – Debbie Millman
We all know people who really impress us for some reason or another. When I ponder the people I most admire, it becomes clear that they embody certain traits and characteristics I’d like to further develop in myself. One is way better than I am at handling stress and uncertainty; another has a knack for getting people laughing despite their problems; another is incredibly quick to forgive and forget; yet another shines with so much belief in herself that it’s clear she knows without a doubt that she can do anything she puts her mind to. If you ask yourself who you most admire and why, you will know what to work on next, for those feelings of admiration are your inner being, calling you forward to become more of who you came here to be.
