Struggling for Gratitude after the Election

By Kira M. Newman

Members of Thnx4, the GGSC’s online gratitude journal, highlight what they gained from the divisive presidential election.

It was a tough, dispiriting presidential election, filled with name-calling, bigotry, and polarization. And for many people, the outcome was devastating.

In the wake of such an election, does gratitude have a place?

Many of the members of our digital gratitude journal, Thnx4, think so. Its public feed was filled with posts expressing a mix of disappointment and disillusionment, combined with heartfelt struggles to see the good and vows to work for positive change in society. We are humbled to share some posts below, in hopes they can provide comfort and inspiration to those who are suffering.
