One reason “religion” is so enduring an institution throughout the world is because there is great power in coming together with others with a common spiritual intention. Unfortunately, what begins as a celebration of unity and devotion often quickly degenerates into a power struggle riddled with issues of ego and control. To make the most of the power of spiritual community, a spirit of unity and devotion must be nurtured above all the details of belief and practice.
