When we discover that someone doesn’t like us, it doesn’t matter what we thought of that person previously; suddenly, we don’t like them either. Obviously, this is based on them not liking us! As the reverse is also true, when conflicts arise, one of the wisest things we can do is look for the good in the other person, for when we admire someone, that person starts to like and respect us more. It’s all ego, of course, but ego is endlessly at play in all relationships. If you want to live in harmony, swallow your pride the next time someone attacks you, and sincerely look for the good in them.
